Golden Eagles
Elaine Nelon, Director

Golden Eagles serves people in all types of facilities, including but not limited to nursing homes, retirement homes, assisted living and adult daycare residences. This ministry offers hope, restores purpose and brings love to those with limited mobility.

Instructors from Golden Eagles offer classes at various facilities, teaching the essentials of prayer from Elizabeth Alves book The Mighty Warrior. All are invited to join an intercessory prayer team where they learn that there is power in numbers and power in God’s Word. Teams intercede for things such as the nations, President’s P.I.T. Crew, the community, the staff of that facility, each other and their families.

Every resident is given a prayer assignment and encouraged to connect with God and others. Those longing for a sense of value, meaning and purpose suddenly find they can make a difference—because prayer changes things! It’s exciting to see how loved people feel when they know that their lives can change the world.... no matter how late it is, or how confining their circumstances. This ministry helps individuals realize their potential and discover that the Lord’s destiny is still being fulfilled in their lives.

Golden Eagles also works with activity directors, faculty members and families of residents in Christ-honoring ways. The result is that we are often merchants of hope in places where hopelessness abounds.

Elaine Nelon has written a powerful manual for volunteers that presents guidelines for ministering to the homebound, the disabled and those with dementia. She also provides priceless material on wheelchair etiquette, how to report abuse and other vital information.

Abraham Lincoln said, “To ease another’s heartache is to forget one’s own.” Will you help? You can become a volunteer and join a team of people who are making a difference for the Kingdom. Consider scheduling a Golden Eagles seminar in your church today.
We will also gladly accept contributions.
